Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting customers in proper application and use of fiber optic products used in structural measurements, telecom instrumentation, and laser metrology. Will maintain existing account relationships as well as identify the needs, goals and objectives of prospective customers. Also, write and explain quotations, close sales and verify, confirm and enter purchase orders in ERP system. In addition, will document sales opportunities, closed sales and customer interactions in CRM system and create new key account relationships by responding to web and trade show inquiries. Will also create and maintain product data sheets and technical support documents. Potential to grow into a key role for customer support and training at the main office and in the field.
Requirements:
Employer requires a high-energy, self-motivated, organized, results-driven, detail oriented candidate who enjoys working in a fast paced and changing environment. A record of learning and applying new technologies a plus. The preferred candidate will have 3-5 years technical sales experience. Candidate must a proficiency with business computer tools as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, civil, aerospace, or related engineering or technical field preferred. Other qualifications considered.
Job description
The successful candidate will join Micron Optics’ industry-leading engineering team as the front-line engineer working to improve product quality, product designs, and production measurement and testing systems through: valuation of product performance and investigation of performance trends in production; collaboration with development teams to resolve design issues that surface in production; partnership with NPI Engineering to ensure successful implementation of new systems and processes aligned to new products; development and implementation of improved assembly, testing, and business processes to enhance product performance and reliability ;implementation of enhanced production test systems to reliably test instrumentation and components while providing high fidelity data; documentation to support manufacturing processes and measurement systems.
Required Skills:
Employer requires a candidate with strong analytical skills with data-centered approach to root cause identification. A strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering fundamentals is a must. Candidate should be highly self-directed and able to design tests and analyze test results. Candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills as well as demonstrated strength in collaboration within a team of diverse employees. Candidate should also be highly engaged and have an engaging approach to solving problems and reaching team goals. Computer skills to include common office applications and one or more 3D CAD systems. Preference will be given to candidates with LabView development skills.
Experience
Minimum 3 years involved with engineering in a high technology manufacturing environment (product improvements, new product introductions, and/or manufacturing engineering).
Minimum 3 years experience developing, deploying, or running product tests.
Optics experience desirable.
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Instrument Assembly and Test Technician
Job description
The successful candidate will join a fast-paced, high technology Manufacturing Team producing fiber optic and microelectronic based instruments. The employee will assemble, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot optical and electrical assemblies, identifying any non-conformances to component level. The instrument assembly and test technician may also assist in reworking, repairing, and modifying non-conforming products. As a member of the technical staff, this individual will work with Product Development, Quality, and other departments in the performance of these duties.
Required Minimum Skills:
Employer requires experience in electronics assembly and troubleshooting. The applicant must be a highly motivated self-starter with good organizational skills. Good verbal and written communication skills are also required. The applicant must be able to work well as a team member to achieve company goals.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in a fast paced technical and/or manufacturing environment involving microelectronic test and troubleshooting
Education:
14 years, with two-year technical degree, or 12 years with HS diploma and experience equivalent to an Associates Degree.
Preferred Skills:
Skilled in electronic testing and troubleshooting microelectronic circuits. Experience with fiber optics and laser systems a plus. Experience with quality systems in a manufacturing environment.
